Drum Buyer’s Bill of Rights Is A Declaration of Independents
October 2004
Calling it the “Drum Buyer’s Bill of Rights”, the Five-Star group of independent drum shops has created an exclusive list of valuable services and support that is now included
free with every drumset purchased from a participating Five-Star dealer. Aimed primarily at younger players and their parents, these value-added bonuses include free assembly and tuning, a free pair of professional-quality drumsticks and a free first drum lesson as well as free lifetime technical support and a free lifetime labor warranty on all repairs for as long as the original purchaser owns the drums.

“We developed the ‘Bill of Rights’ because we felt that many first-time drum buyers may not get the level of support they are entitled to,” comments Five-Star member and Director Rob Birenbaum of Drum Headquarters in St. Louis, MO. “Not only does the program decrease the potential buyer’s resistance to investing in a drumset by showing that we stand behind the products we sell, it makes the quality of the instrument and the support we provide as important as the price.”

The Drum Buyer’s Bill of Rights is available only at participating Five-Star Drum Shops. Some restrictions apply. For complete details contact your local Five-Star Drum Shop or go online at www.fivestardrumshops.com.

Five-Star Expands Independent Drum Shop Network With New Members.
April 1, 2004

Five-Star Drum Shops has announced the expansion of its network of independent drum dealers with the recent addition of ten new members. This brings the total number of Five-Star members to 35 — representing nearly 40 locations throughout the United States and Canada.

The new Five-Star members include: Birmingham Percussion Center (Birmingham, AL), Colorado Drum & Percussion (Fort Collins, CO), Dale’s Drum Shop (Harrisburg, PA), Donn Bennett Drum Studio (Bellevue, WA), Drum Center Of Lexington (Lexington, KY), Drum Shop (Portland, ME), Dynamic Percussion (Manchester, CT), Percussion Center (Houston, TX), Resurrection Drums (Miami and Hallandale, FL) and Tommy’s Drum Shop (Austin, TX).

According to A Five-Star spokesperson, further expansion of the group remains a possibility due to market research, which indicates that there are still a handful of cities in North America with the demographics, and customer base that could support a Five-Star dealer. “Five-Star dealers are unique in that they offer a wide selection of high-end, professional equipment while also offering lessons and instruments for beginning and intermediate drummers. We are committed to maintaining that diversity and filling our important role in the drumming community. Thus far the growth and stability we seek to create has been strongly supported by both our customers and our suppliers.”
